first ice cream cone

the other day it occurred to me that ava had never had an ice cream cone. so i rectified that situation and took her 31 flavors. she was so thrilled when the man handed her the cone she held it with both hands out to the man and woman standing behind her and exclaimed, "this is my very own ice cream cone!" if i hadn't been so distracted by my ice cream, i would have hugged her to death right then and there.

it is dangerous to be a mother.

I hope she enjoyed it. The look on her face here makes me giggle. "What IS this, Mom?"

It is about time! You haven't lived like a child until you have been to Rite Aid and order a cotton candy ice cream in a sugar cone. Hunter's absolute fave!

I had that revelation about a year ago... Yes I gave my 18-month-old her first "very own" ice cream cone. Kudos to you for holding out on her so long!

it's not that i held out, it's that i forgot. we just don't go out and get ice cream on a cone anymore!

or, more likely, it's that we just don't go out anymore. ah, poverty. . .
